Footballer Sent Off For "Dangerous Haircut"

Summary: Nathan Van Someren, he is an Australian Rules football player. When he had a match, he was sent off not for dangerous conduct, but for a "dangerous haircut". It happened to him when he was playing for his team Simpson in the Australian state of Victoria. An umpire claimed that Van Someren's spiked mohawk hairstyle could injure other players. That's why an umpire sent Van Someren off the field. Van Someren couldn't believe an umpire told him that and Van Someren even thought that an empire was joking.  The Simpson team coach also said he could not understand the umpire’s logic. Also, football commentators were confused too. After all, the Victorian Country Football League agreed the umpire had not followed the rules properly. At last, Van Someren said,"I don't think I have to change my hairstyle. Even if someone has long hair, it could flick someone in the eye. Should they be made to cut their hair as well?"

Comment: This was a funny breaking news. Mr. Nathan Van Someren was serious for playing his soccer for sure. I think that he didn't expect to be called by an umpire about his hair during the match. When I watch sports games, I also enjoy players outward appearances. So, I think their hairstyles are one of their performance. As long as it doesn't bother other players very much, players can have their own hairstyle.
